isla is opening nominations for the 2021-2022 Advisory Board that will help support our growth, raise the profile of isla, drive value to our members and the industry.
We’ve grown from our 12 founding members to more than 80 event businesses and from a team of two to a team of six. We’ve launched proseed – the event industry’s first universal framework for sustainable events – and we’re about to release TRACE, our carbon & waste measurement tool!
We were very fortunate to kick-start our 2020 – 2021 journey with our Advisory Board which saw Hannah Luffman (Cheerful Twentyfirst), Jason Megson (GPJ) and Russ Lidstone (TCEG) support us through our first year.
Russ Lidstone, Group CEO, TCEG “As a not for profit, member based organisation the value of the advisory board is to provide support, scrutiny and represent members’ interests. This role is increasingly important as we embark on the next stage of isla’s journey and seek to deliver against its critical mission. It’s a privilege to be chair of the board, and contribute to its development as we enter the next important stage of its evolution“.
With the phased return of in-person events, COP26 on the horizon, and recent findings of the IPPC report on the climate crisis. The demand for businesses to reexamine their purposes and priorities is now business-critical, not choice.
Against this backdrop, the next year is set to be a momentous one for isla, our members and the industry for climate ambitions. Our new cohort will continue to shape isla’s evolution of tools, resources and industry-wide standardisation that will accelerate the events industry transition to a sustainable future.
How to apply?
The Advisory Board positions are only open to individuals from within our member organisations. This means that we can ensure our members have an opportunity to shape the direction of isla.
