isla has today announced that it has partnered with micebook to deliver the inaugural year for the Power 50: Green Champions, a free-to-enter initiative celebrating changemaking eventprofs working hard to make positive shifts for the planet.
Toni Griggs, Growth Lead, isla, said: “The events industry is filled with proactive individuals within the events industry who are bridging the gap between intention and action on environmental issues. Power 50: Green Champions is the perfect opportunity to highlight these amazing, and impactful, strides forward.”
Open to eventprofs at all stages of their career, from junior event planners right through to CEOs, Power 50: Green Champions welcomes applications that cover everything from a standout sustainable event to a green initiative that helped transform company culture, and everything in between.
Chetan Shah, Founder and CEO, micebook, said: “There is a lot of talk around this topic but there are some individuals who are really walking the walk and deserve to be celebrated. Those chosen to be part of our Power 50 will have shone through for their efforts in driving positive change, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements at the launch in October, providing inspiration for others on what can be achieved at any level and in any organisation.”
Entries will be judged by a panel of sustainability experts from both within and outside the sector.
Judges confirmed include Christianne Beck, Founder and Event Sustainability Consultant, Worlds Better and isla associate, Selina Donald, Founder, The Bulb and isla Advisory Board Member, Steve Lister, Sustainability Consultant, RETHINK Retail and Matt Grey from event: decision.
The deadline for applications is Wednesday May 31st, with the final Power 50 announced at a special event in October.
