Event Buyers Live partners with isla to deliver on sustainability ambitions

Sustainability has always been a popular roundtable discussion at Event Buyers Live. It’s a key area of focus for live event organisers. Hence, this year’s industry event (November 28-30) will feature a workshop dedicated to sustainability.

The sustainability workshop will be led by isla, an action-driven body that seeks to accelerate the event industry’s adoption of sustainability measures. Working in collaboration with isla are The Bulb, ecolibrium, Vision: 2025, and A Greener Festival; together, the organisations will share vital knowledge and best practice that will help event professionals to either begin their sustainability journey or progress even further.

Caroline Clift, content manager of Event Buyers Live, said: “I’m really excited to see some of the industry’s most respected minds in the world of sustainability come together for EBL, including isla’s Ellie Ashton-Melia, the Bulb’s Selina Donald, ecolibrium’s Naomi Lawson, Vision: 2025’s Bethan Riach, and A Greener Festival’s Claire O’Neill.

“This workshop session will enable our delegates to delve a little deeper into sustainability, ask pertinent questions of their peers, and conduct small tasks that can be replicated when back at their office.”

StandOut Multimedia, organiser of EBL, will use isla’s TRACE system and measure the industry event, putting sustainability front and centre.

Toni Griggs, growth lead at isla, said: “We’re delighted that StandOut has decided to adopt TRACE to measure the impact of Event Buyers Live, as part of their commitment to putting sustainability at the heart of their event programme.

“Post-event reporting from Event Buyers Live will not only create a benchmark from which StandOut can move upwards but will also contribute to shaping the wider sustainability agenda.”

Event Buyers Live will take place at Carden Park Hotel, Chester.

Delegate travel is the event’s greatest carbon impact, with people travelling from all corners of the UK. Therefore, EBL has partnered with ecolibrium, which works at the heart of live events to accelerate the shift to low-carbon travel and create positive climate impacts.

Event Buyers Live is asking delegates to take low-carbon forms of travel to the event.

Neil Fagg, event director of EBL, said: “Whilst reducing emissions is a priority, we recognise that not everyone can take low-carbon forms of transport. However you decide to travel to Event Buyers Live, we ask that everyone make a small contribution to ecolibrium’s climate solutions programmes – Trees+ or Energy Revolution – to help mitigate the impacts of travel and deliver positive climate impacts. You can do this online using ecolibrium’s carbon calculator or by downloading the ecolibrium app – just search for ecolibrium in the Apple store or Google Play.”

Registration for #EBL2022 is now open. The industry event is open to only 100 event organisers. Register now at www.eventbuyerslive.com
