isla CEO and Co-Founder Anna Abdelnoor appointed to TMS Advisory Board

The appointment strengthens isla's existing relationship with The Meetings Show and will work to continue to champion event sustainability.

isla CEO & Co-Founder Anna Abdelnoor has been appointed as an Advisory Board member for The Meetings Show (TMS) – the UK’s leading event which brings together the world’s meetings and events community.

Anna will join 13 fellow cross-sector candidates from suppliers (venues, international and UK destinations) to organisers (association, agency and corporate) and industry associations such as beam and the Meetings Industry Association (MIA) on the Board, all chosen because of expertise and positive impact they can bring to the show, and its part in supporting the wider events industry agenda.

The Board will meet twice a year to offer advice and guidance on all aspects of show planning, making key decisions on its shape in the coming months.

Jack Marczewski, Portfolio Event Director, The Meetings Show, Teams Europe and Business Travel Show Europe, said: “We are excited to welcome Anna onto The Meetings Show Advisory Board. As a show, we already work closely with isla as a strategic partner, not only on our Complete Sustainable Events Course but on how to ensure every aspect of our exhibition deliveries are as sustainable as possible and to deliver on the promise of the Net Zero Events Pledge, which we signed earlier this year.

“This includes using TRACE to measure our impact and making a commitment to inspire change in the travel, meetings and hospitality sectors and champion future sustainable growth.

“Having Anna’s expertise on the Board will allow us to take this further and really embed our sustainability goals into the show.

Continuing he added: “Anna’s creativity and in-depth sector knowledge will also prove invaluable to enhancing other areas of the exhibition.”

Anna Abdelnoor, CEO and Co-Founder of isla, said: “isla has worked closely with TMS across the last 18 months and I’m excited to play an active role in shaping the agenda for TMS in the coming year alongside a broad range of my sector peers. Collaboration is exactly the space where change happens.”

TMS 2023 will take place between June 28-29 at London’s Excel Centre. Find further details here.
